Ms. Sevil Ozisik’s practice focuses on the immigration-related needs of employers in a full spectrum of industries including, technology, real estate, finance, energy, hospitality, transportation, manufacturing, logistics, and multi-media. Ms. Ozisik either partners with human resource personnel or manages their foreign national personnel program entirely, in obtaining temporary and permanent (green card) visas for business, scientific, managerial and executive personnel. Through her substantial experience with all work-related visa classifications (H-1B, H-3, L-1A, L-1B, E-1, E-2, E-3, J-1, TN, O, P), she is able to provide both short-term and long-term strategic guidance in the employer/employee relationship. Her representation also includes that of outstanding researchers, extraordinary ability foreign nationals and those seeking national interest waivers. Ms. Ozisik has been active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and also a member of the American Bar Association. She has participated in the New York City Bar Associations’ pro bono programs to assist battered women and children.

Ms. Ozisik is also experienced in EB-5 investor visas, including the preparation and filing of I-526 petitions for individual businesses and regional center investments, consular processing and adjustment of status applications, and I-829 petitions for removal of conditions. She works closely with investors and has extensive experience in documenting complex lawful sources of investment funds. She works closely with investors from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, China, Korea, India and many other countries. She also works with regional centers in preparing filings for designation amendments, project exemplars, and annual supplement filings.

Ms. Ozisik received her LL.B degree from Dokuz Eylul University Law Faculty in Izmir, Turkey, and her LL.M degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a licensed attorney New York and also in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ms. Ozisik has been invited to judge New York University Law’s National Immigration Law Competition (ILC) in 2015 and 2016. Now in its tenth year, the ILC is the nation’s largest and most prestigious moot court competition focusing exclusively on Immigration Law, open to elite moot court teams from across the country with a proven interest in the subject.

Ms. Ozisik is an active member of Turkish American business community. She has been a selected member to serve on Turkey’s “Overseas Citizens Advisory Board,” a prestigious international advisory panel since 2012.  The Advisory Board has been actively working to identify the problems of Turks living outside of Turkey and to provide recommendations concerning how to enhance the lives of these citizens, and ensure they participate equally in social and economic life in the countries in which they live.  Ms. Ozisik is one of 8 board members chosen to represent the interests of Turkish citizens living in the United States and is the only lawyer from the group.  

Ms. Ozisik is also an elected executive board member of the American Regional Committee of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK). The World Turkish Business Council is founded by DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) as a part of DEIK. World Turkish Business Council aims to gather all dispersed networks of Turkish entrepreneurs and successful Turkish professionals. The president of the High Advisory Board of DTIK is Mr. Muhtar Kent (Chairman of the Coca Cola Company). The main goal of “World Turkish Business Council” is to boost the commercial and economic relations among the Turkish business community settled outside Turkey. Formerly, she was an active member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI)’s from 2002 to 2014 actively serving as the President, Vice President and Board Secretary for twelve years. During her term, Ms. Ozisik was the essential board member establishing a partnership between Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and TACCI naming Turkey as the VIP partner country to increase business and investments between Turkey and New York City. She has also organized the Renewable Energy Conference at the Levin Institute, Buffalo Trade Mission, Conference on the Implementation of Continuous Process Improvement with Lean Six Sigma, Adana Economical Forum in Turkey on the topic of The Business Opportunities in the U.S. with the participation of Senior Advisor to the Governor of New York State for International Commerce and Development, and Annual Power Dinner held together with Globond International.
